Change of Campus Process @VT

This is a simple post for changing campus within or out of Virginia Tech, yet the main focus is on changing campus within Virginia Tech in ECE department. For other department, you need to first contact assistant in the specific department. At the moment of initial publication, this is really sketchy, but I will refine this as the days going.

Before proceeding, it is recommended your vt domain email is working properly, some departments with the university would use vt email due to security and privacy issues.

Here’s change of campus form that you need to fill in, you may also need to get signatures from academic advisor, the department, grad school as well as Cranwell International Center. But first you need to ask your academic advisor to sign the form after you prefilled the form.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC: You will submit the form(with your signature and your academic advisor’s signature) to this site, there’s ece student form submission requests, you need to upload the form file, during submission, you will need to answer questions, and you could select change of campus.

You will be notified once the process is done, you don’t have to contact department, grad school and Cranwell International Center one by one to get signatures, once you submit the request, they will handle that for you. You could check with department assistant to see the progress.

Once the form is completed, you will receive email from Grad school, normally they use vt emails for notifications.

The following steps are for international students, so if you are student with US citizenship, your process of transfering campus is finished.

Once the change of campus form is done, you could email Cranwell International Center international@vt.edu for sevis and i20 update.

They would ask you to submit 2 forms from IntlHokies Portal, namely “transfer out form” as well as “new incoming student submission form”. The completely signed change of campus form is needed before step.

I suggest you to send emails periodically to check the progress, regarding department, grad school as well as Cranwell International Center.

If you have any suggestions or feedbacks for the change of campus process @VT, please leave a comment, I will update the post so that other people could benefit from it.
